At L'Atelier, gastronomy begins with the ingredient. The cuisine is contemporary with European influences, shaped by seasonality, clarity of flavor, and technical precision — rooted in Romanian terroir while remaining open to exceptional international ingredients when they enhance the expression of taste.

We work directly with local producers, farmers, and fishermen, building long-term relationships that guarantee the quality and provenance of everything that reaches the plate. The kitchen uses fermentation, slow infusions, and house-made kombucha as foundations for sauces and pairings — techniques applied with restraint, so the ingredient always speaks first.

L'Atelier is led by Head Chef Flaviu Mureșan, whose career spans kitchens in Berlin and Venice before returning to Bucharest, where he previously headed the kitchen at Bank, the restaurant of The Marmorosch hotel. His cooking is defined by three principles: simplicity, respect for the ingredient, and honesty in the kitchen — working with seasonal produce and letting it speak, without hiding it behind heavy sauces or seasoning.

Two signature dishes express his vision. Cișmigiu, the Japanese Garden is inspired by the emblematic Bucharest park steps from the restaurant, combining local ingredients with Japanese techniques in a minimalist, emotional composition. Dobrogean Lobster Saramură reinterprets an iconic Romanian preparation in an elegant new form, without losing its roots.

In 2026, L'Atelier received the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence, a distinction granted to restaurants whose wine lists demonstrate exceptional breadth across wine regions and vertical depth from top producers.

The list counts 354 labels, of which around 30% — more than 100 references — are Romanian wines, placed naturally alongside established international names. The program is curated by sommelier Luca Aurelian, part of the L'Atelier team for more than ten years, who creates dedicated wine pairings for each seasonal tasting menu. Beyond established producers, L'Atelier acts as a platform for smaller Romanian wineries with strong identity — wines that deserve to be discovered and explained at the table.

L'Atelier sits in a quiet cul-de-sac surrounded by greenery, an unexpected calm in the center of Bucharest. The restaurant offers an intimate main dining room with 30 seats and a sunlit winter garden with 30 additional seats. The setting works equally for a refined business lunch, a romantic dinner, or a private celebration.

For exclusive experiences, the Epoque Tasting Room — opened in 2024 — offers private dining with an open kitchen, a chef's table for up to 16 guests, and a premium wine cellar.
